Wellington Arts Portrait Artists Of The Year 2021
Entries to become a finalist in the WACI Portrait Artists Of The Year 2021 will be accepted from any Professional or Emerging artist.
A selection of 12 finalists will be made who will be required to attend a 4 hour portraiture session at Wellington Arts Gallery, Wellington on Saturday December 4th. Professional and Emerging artists divisions.
Entry Requirements:
You will need to submit via email, a self portrait (in any medium) including the photo of yourself that was your inspiration. Also include a short Bio.

Finalists will be chosen by a committee of WACI members and notified via email or phone by November 14th 2021 & announced on our social media pages.
Finalist Event:
A $2000 prize pool is up for the winners.
WACI will tax 20% commission from any sales of art work.
Judging will be conducted by a representative of our sponsor.
Photographs & live video will be taken during the event for WACI social media & possibly other news agencies.
WACI reserves the right to not accept work.
In the event of COVID restrictions still impacting an open exhibition, compliance will be based on Government warnings and restrictions. Face masks, QR code and sanitiser can now be considered normal for attending exhibitions.

Finalist Event:
- Chosen finalists will be required to attend Wellington Arts Gallery, Wellington (Cnr Nanima Crescent & Swift Street.) Saturday December 4th 2021, for a 10.00am start.
- Artists will be expected to complete a portrait of a known Wellington figure sitting live, in a 4 hour session (breaking for lunch) within one of two groups; Professional or Emerging divisions.
- The medium used in the finals MUST be the same as used in your submitted entry.
- Judging by a sponsor representative will take place at the end of the sitting, starting at 2.30pm.
- An auction will then be held if artists wish to have their work sold (artists can set a reserve) at 3.00pm.
- Artists will be responsible for their own travel/accommodation & for their own materials/tools needed on the day.
