Portrait Artists of the Year 2020 - WACI
Wellington Arts will be entertaining FAMILIES on a FUN DAY OUT with the processes of painting a portrait from beginning to completion. We encourage artistic minded people to observe the individual artists unique style in completing a work of art. 2 well known locals will be sitting for 12 Artists painting. The day’s painting will commence at 10.00am and proceed for 4 hours. You are invited to participate in the activities of the day with a $10 ENTRY fee ( Kids under 12 FREE ) which entitles participants to BBQ lunch, 20 X $50 Local Store Voucher Draws & Treasure Hunt. Other onsite & surrounding activities include games, access to the Wellington Osawano Japanese Gardens Caves Wood Gallery and gifts and gifts, the Caves Bottle House and ability book ahead for a visit to the Wellington Caves tours. Families are encouraged to bring pushbikes and scooters, to picnic and to access the local Golf Club grounds and make the most of the Spring weather. A BUS will be available on the day. Leaving from Wellington Library carpark & making a return trip at 10am, 12pm & 2pm. Bus tickets will be $5 each way, kids under 12 yrs can travel on the bus with their family for Free. Judging will take place at 3pm. All completed works are eligible to be auctioned after judging is completed. INVITATION TO ARTISTS
Wellington Arts – ‘Portrait Artists of the Year 2020’
Sunday 15 November 10.00am – 4.00pm
Wellington Arts aim to entertain a variety of adults and children with the processes of painting a portrait from beginning to completion. We encourage artistic minded people to observe the individual artists unique style in completing a work of art.
Plans for the day include 2 ‘portrait sitters’ within the Wellington Golf Club house. The professional and amateur artists will be allocated a ‘sitter’ whilst competing for prize money of $500. Both an amateur and professional winning artist with each ‘sitter’ will win $500. Total prize pool money $2000.
The day’s painting will commence at 10.00am and proceed for 4 hours. The proposed number of artists competing is a maximum of 8 (combined professional and amateur) artists per ‘sitter’.
Any medium preferred by the artists may be used to complete portraits.
All art materials, canvas, board, paper etc required to paint comfortably for the day must be provided by the artists attending.
Judging of the professional artists paintings will take place at 4.00pm by the major sponsor of the event and the amateur artist’s works will be judged by a delegate of Wellington Arts.
All completed works are eligible to be auctioned after judging is completed. A reserve price is to be determined by the individual artists for their work.
All club house facilities will be available for use from 8.30am so as to set up work stations.
BBQ lunch will be provided for the competing artists.
